Sustainable Livelihood
Koraput Farmers’ Association (KFA) was established in the year 2000-2001 in order to bring a qualitative change in socio-economic status of marginalized communities of the district of Koraput. At present the association is working in three Blocks namely Koraput, Lamtaput and Semiliguda covering 23 gram panchayats. The association has been focusing its interventions on providing the necessary support to the farming community, especially the tribals so that their livelihoods are protected and promoted in a sustainable way. Besides, the association also works in the field of elementary education and Persons with Disabilities (PwD). The major strategy of the KFA is to mobilize, organize and empower the community to work for sustainable solutions to their age old and emerging problems. In the process of mobilizing and organizing community the KFA has been working in close coordination and tandem with various Govt. and Non Govt. agencies respectively so as to make better impact of various development policies and programs amongst the growing marginalized farming community. KFA strongly believes that it can only work as a catalyst where people have to take the responsibility of their own development.
